Sealed Shelby tubes arrive from the field: logged, tagged, and extruded intact.
The specimen is trimmed to test size; offcuts give moisture content and density.
Liquid and plastic limits place the soil on the plasticity chart. Here, lean clay (CL).
The specimen is loaded to failure while stress versus strain is recorded live.
Checked results (strength, classification, logs) are compiled into the report appendix.
